The Geneva Graduate Institute's Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) recently welcomed leading mediation scholars and practitioners to Geneva for a two-day workshop dedicated to the development of the 2027 World Mediation Report.
Organized in partnership with the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies, the workshop brought together contributing authors to review draft chapters, refine key themes, and strengthen the report's analytical framework. Against a backdrop of rapid geopolitical change, participants examined how evolving international dynamics are reshaping the norms, institutions, and practice of peace mediation. The 2027 World Mediation Report builds on an established collaboration between the CCDP and the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies, continuing a shared effort to generate research that informs mediation policy and practice worldwide.
In addition to advancing the report itself, participants received strategic updates on preparations for the Qatar Mediation Forum 2026, where the report's findings will be presented and discussed with an international audience of policymakers, mediators, and researchers.
