Naomi Burke-Shyne passed away on Tuesday. A leading light in the global movement for humane, evidence-based, public health approaches to drug use, and former Executive Director of Harm Reduction International, Naomi demonstrated the best of the global health community: passion, humility, humanity and a commitment to change the world for the better, especially for those who are disregarded and marginalised in our societies.

In her time with us at the Global Health Centre, she impressed with her energy and selfless commitment. We were honoured to have her as a member of our community at the Global Health Centre and Graduate Institute, albeit for far too short a time.
