The Institute now has exchange programmes in Cairo, Dakar and Zurich.
The Institute recently finalised a series of new academic partnerships to extend its outreach and collaborative activities through exchange of students, research and visiting faculty. Following the signature of agreements with the American University Cairo, School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, as well as University Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar Sénégal, the Institute now has 12 partners in emerging nations. In Switzerland, it has concluded an agreement with the Centre for Comparative and International Studies based at the University of Zurich and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
For the spring term that has just ended, 70 students from the Institute applied to participate in a semester abroad with one of the Institute's partners, an increase of more than 40% since last year. Students have continued to show great interest in participating in exchanges with our partners in India, China, Malaysia and Ghana as well as the Elliott School of International Affairs, Tufts Fletcher School, Harvard Law and NUS Singapore. The next round of nearly 50 participating students will spend six months abroad beginning in September and will earn credits from the partner universities as part of their master and PhD programmes at the Institute.
In the spring 2013 semester the Institute hosted a dozen students from partner universities notably from St Gallen University, Harvard, UCLA, Sciences Po Paris, Hertie School of Governance in Berlin and others.
In addition to exchange programmes, the Institute carries out a range of activities in collaboration with its academic partners such as an upcoming joint doctoral workshop with the Colegio de Mexico in December.
