Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy

Open call for artists or activists engaging with environmental and/or historical injustice through visual means.

The call is for participation in a mural jamming session in Geneva alongside Indonesian artists and activists.

Imaging Invisibilities is the new project led by Patricia Spyer, Honorary Professor at the Department of Anthropology and Sociology and Faculty Associate at the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy.

Supported by the SNSF Agora scheme, it is focused on making historical and environmental injustices visible through visual and artistic practices.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Swiss-based artist or activist who works on issues related to environmental and/or historical injustice through visual means. The selected collaborator will take part in a mural jamming session in Geneva alongside Indonesian artists and activists. We are currently considering a location in the Les Grottes area of Geneva, and particularly welcome applications from artists who may be able to suggest or help secure potential mural locations in the city.
