Richard Baldwin, Professor Monika Bütler, University of St.Gallen President Thomas Bieger

At its “Dies Academicus” on 12 May, the University of St. Gallen awarded Professor Richard Baldwin an Honorary Doctorate for his top-level research in the field of international economics. Richard Baldwin has been a member of the Graduate Institute’s faculty since 1991. He is also co-Director of the Institute’s Centre for Trade and Economic Integration. Professor Baldwin is co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of VoxEU.org, Policy Director of the Centre for Economic Policy Research, and an elected Member of the Council of the European Economic Association. He has published in the areas of international trade, regionalism, European integration, economic geography, political economy and growth. He wrote his PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the guidance of Paul Krugman.
