On 22 October 2025, members of the Global Governance Centre’s Future of Humanitarian Design (HUD) project partnered with the Universidad del Norte in Baranquilla, Colombia for the workshop “Reconfigurando // Retooling Humanitarian Care”.

Co-organised by Anna Leander and Silke Oldenburg, the project gathered members of the Universidad del Norte’s departments of Design and Health, Edgard David Rincón Quicano, Ana Liliana Rios García, and Angie Reyes among others. 

This session fostered valuable cross-country collaboration and the exchange of diverse perspectives. It directly supported the core aims of the HUD project, which endeavors to bridge social sciences with engineering, architecture, and design practice.

By working across these disciplines, the project takes on the urgent task, especially in light of recent geopolitical challenges, of collaboratively improving conditions for some of the world’s most vulnerable populations.
