Sommaruga, Swiss President, announces Switzerland's support to the new TASC platform: Thinking Ahead on Societal Change that CTEI will soon launch

Excited to share that the President of the Swiss Confederation announced yesterday during the ILO summit on COVID-19 and the World of Work, Switzerland's support to the new TASC platform: Thinking Ahead on Societal Change (earlier referred to as Transformations Platform) that will be hosted by CTEI.

The world is experiencing several massive, simultaneous, and confluent disruptions. Digitech and biotech technologies are disrupting the future of manufacturing, the future of work, the future of globalization, and much more. Climate change and the exhaustion of natural resources are disordering traditional assumptions on everything from food production to international policy cooperation and coordination. The Covid pandemic – not the first and certainly not the last – has forced a rethinking all across the horizon of international cooperation. Social and economic inequality within and between nations is forcing an urgent need for reconsidering the current social and economic operating modes.

The aim of the new platform, Thinking Ahead on Societal Changes (TASC) is to bring together diverse stakeholders who work on issues connected with societal transformations in order to develop enhanced solutions and amplify their voice beyond Geneva. TASC will provide a common ground for joined-up thinking, collaborative reflective and research, and joint initiatives. TASC will have an evolving mandate, with a first focus on the Future of Work.
