From Tampere 20 to Tampere 2.0 : A publication

This publication looks back at the Tampere legacy and puts forward proposals that can inform future EU migration, asylum and integration policy

EMN Finland, the European Policy Centre, the Odysseus Academic Network and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation have launched the publication - From Tampere 20 to Tampere 2.0 - Towards a New European Consensus on Migration, which figures Vincent Chetail’s contribution on Migration and Development.

This joint publication looks back at the Tampere legacy and puts forward proposals that can inform future EU migration, asylum and integration policy.  The conference of which the publication is drawn celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Tampere conclusions adopted in October 1999.  This landmark anniversary provided an opportunity to brainstorm about future priorities for the development of the visas, borders, migration and asylum policies within the next five years, anticipating the future guidelines that the European Council will adopt for the period 2020-2024.
