This week and next, students from Europe, the Middle East as well as many from Asia, Australia and New Zealand are at the Graduate Institute engaged in a two-week “Winter Programme on the United Nations and Global Challenges”.
During the programme, professors from the Graduate Institute and other experts deliver lectures on the history and mission of the United Nations, its future and other topics. It includes a visit to the UN’s European headquarters, presentations by officials from the organisation, a visit to the UNHCR, simulated multilateral negotiations, working sessions, social events and more. The United Nations Office in Geneva Chief of Cabinet, Dr Joshua Lincoln, delivered an inspiring speech on the value and the culture of the UN on the programme’s opening day.
This winter programme is organised in collaboration with the Institute’s Programme for the Study of International Governance led by Professor Thomas Biersteker.
The Institute also hosts summer programmes on International Affairs and Multilateral Governance which takes place from from 24 June to 12 July and on the WTO, International Trade and Development from 1 to 12 July this year. Apply now.
