PROFILE
 

Adela Santos is an international relations scholar specialising in global health governance, with a unique focus on how legislatures shape the translation of international health norms into national frameworks. Her research brings a parliamentary perspective into global health debates, an angle often overlooked in governance and compliance discussions.

At the Global Health Centre, Geneva Graduate Institute, she is a Postdoctoral fellow supported by the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship (ESKAS). Her research, supervised by Professor Suerie Moon, uses comparative and complexity-informed approaches to anticipate the opportunities and constraints countries in Latin America may face in internalising a future pandemic treaty.

Before joining the Centre, she held a permanent post as a parliamentary researcher at the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, advised the Health Committee on aligning legislation with international standards, and worked at the Jalisco State Ministry of Health and at One Health Mx Institute.
