Anne Lee Steele

Research Community Manager, The Alan Turing Institute

Anne Lee Steele is a researcher dedicated to understanding and supporting the people and processes shaping our digital world, from open-source infrastructure to physical supply chains. She approaches her work as an ethnographer first and a community-builder second.

As the Research Community Manager for The Turing Way at the Alan Turing Institute, she stewards an open-source resource for reproducible data science called The Turing Way. She is also a British Red Cross facilitator of the Missing Maps project, which stewards crowdsourced data to support emergency response. She has received fellowships and awards from a variety of institutions at the intersection of civic life and technology, including the School of Commons, Internet Society, Wikimedia Deutschland, and the Open Knowledge Foundation.
