I am Swiss American and grew up in the Engadin valley in Switzerland. I pursued my undergraduate studies in history at the University of Edinburgh and later my Master’s degree at Universiteit Leiden. Prior to beginning my PhD, I worked in education in Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.

PhD Thesis Title: Rescue, Revelation and Reconnaissance: Holocaust Rescue and Intelligence Networks in a New Light, 1942-1976

This dissertation sits at the intersection of Holocaust and intelligence studies. Through the reconstruction of a transnational civilian network of diplomats, journalists, and intelligence officers that emerged in wartime Switzerland, it investigates the hidden continuities linking Holocaust rescue efforts with the covert politics of the early Cold War. By tracing these actors beyond 1945, the project asks to what extent informal wartime networks persisted, adapted, and became integrated into emerging clandestine structures. In doing so, it challenges historiographical boundaries that have treated Holocaust rescue, intelligence history, and Cold War covert operations as separate fields, foregrounding instead the importance of transatlantic networks, information flows, and the role of U.S. intelligence in shaping the postwar order.
