PhD Thesis Title: Global Public Intellectuals and the Global Intellectual Public: The Case of Kurdish Studies
PhD Supervisor: Julie Billaud, Till Mostowlansky
This thesis follows the interactions of intellectuals engaged in Kurdish Studies, an emerging academic field which is deeply linked to the intellectualism of the Kurdish Liberation movement. An examination of the ways that different individuals and groups of intellectuals approach and define their publics, this thesis seeks to shed light on the political role of indigenous, diasporic, and activist intellectuals during a period when the parameters of public space are rapidly shifting.
