Francesco Pisano is an educator, coach, and advisor with 32 years of professional experience at the United Nations. He most recently served as Director of the UN Library & Archives Geneva, where he championed knowledge access, innovation in information services, and the evolution of multilateralism. Previously, he directed research and technology programs at UNITAR, designing learning initiatives and training solutions for professionals worldwide, and was Head of UNOSAT, the UN’s satellite analysis and geospatial information programme.
After working as a researcher in geostrategic studies, and in overseas business development in the private sector, Francesco began his UN career in 1993 in the humanitarian coordination sector, contributing to early efforts in inter-agency coordination and disaster prevention. Today, he teaches at the Geneva Graduate Institute and mentors emerging and established professionals in adaptive leadership, organizational change, and strategic foresight, helping them lead with impact, adapt to change, and foster resilience in global contexts.
