Profile

 

International economic lawyer and aspiring academic. Currently, a PhD Candidate at The Graduate Institute Geneva, where he is finalising a 5-year-long research on the law of evidence in public international law litigation. Formerly, he was an International Trade Law Associate at the law firm King & Spalding, and before this, the Editorial Assistant of the Oxford Journal of International Economic Law (JIEL). Prior to this, he worked for the Mexican trade remedies authority, where he led the dispute settlement team in numerous WTO and NAFTA disputes. Prior to his PhD studies, Manuel worked for the WTO Legal Affairs Division. He holds a Master of Laws from Georgetown University and a first law degree from the Mexico Autonomous Institute of Technology (ITAM University). His work has been published in the Journal of International Economic Law as well as the Journal of World Trade. He is also the founder of Enloya, a digital platform for legal services backed by Innosuisse (Switzerland's Innovation Agency).
