Molly Ryan

Researcher, Centre on Conflict, Development & Peacebuilding

Molly Ryan is a Master’s student in International and Development Studies at the Geneva Graduate Institute, specialising in human rights and humanitarianism. She previously completed a Bachelor’s degree in Global Humanities at Sapienza University of Rome and has worked with INTERSOS and Nonviolent Peaceforce in HR and People & Culture roles. She is currently a Student Researcher on the project Governing the Revolution: Rebel Territories as a Laboratory for Foreign Aid at the Centre for Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding, using Myanmar as a vantage point to study how foreign aid is governed and negotiated in rebel‑held and “fragile” contexts and how non‑state actors shape these dynamics. Broadly, her research interests sit in critical theory approaches to humanitarianism and aid regimes, focusing on power, ethics, and how policies and organisations shape people’s everyday lives.
