Oana Baluta is a PhD candidate in International History and Politics. She has studied before in Bucharest, Stockholm, and Heidelberg. Her project focuses on Cold War history during the Stalinist period in Romania. It examines state repression and the experiences of women in communist prisons, with an emphasis on how political power shaped everyday life and personal resistance.
