Oana Baluta is a PhD candidate in International History and Politics. She previously studied in Bucharest, Stockholm, and Heidelberg. Her project explores Cold War dynamics during the Stalinist period in Romania. It examines state repression and the experiences of women in communist prisons, with a particular focus on the intersection of political violence, everyday life, and transnational history.
