Profile
 

Fuad Zarbiyev holds a Bachelor of Laws from Baku State University, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School and a PhD in International Law from the Geneva Graduate Institute. Previously, he was a Global Research Fellow at New York University School of Law and worked as an associate attorney and counsel with the New York office of the international law firm of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP. He is the recipient of the Diploma of the Hague Academy of International Law and the James Crawford Prize in International Dispute Settlement. He holds a visiting appointment at the Sciences Po Law School in Paris and is Senior Fellow in the Research Group ‘The International Rule of Law – Rise or Decline?’ at Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, Universität Potsdam and Social Science Research Center Berlin (Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin). He has been appointed as Director of Studies for the 2024 winter session of The Hague Academy of International Law and as Lecturer in the 2023 Regional Course in International Law for Africa organized by the Codification Division of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs.
