Translating Research into Action in Complex Crisis Contexts

This project contributes to filling the gap between the vast amount of humanitarian data that exists and its practical application in decision-making processes by answering the following question: What are the best practices for effectively evaluating the impact of research on decision-making in humanitarian crisis contexts, and how can these practices be integrated into IMPACT’s ME framework to enhance its effectiveness? A mixed methods approach is used to collect data, consisting of semi-structured Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), a survey analysis, and a ME Framework analysis. As a synthesis of the literature review and the different methods, current best practices by IMPACT and recommendations for improvement for maximizing and evaluating the impact of research in humanitarian contexts will be presented.
