PROFILE
 

Munia Hassoun is a PhD researcher in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at the Geneva Graduate Institute. She initially trained and worked as a pharmacist before shifting into the humanitarian sector, working with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent throughout the years of war. In Switzerland, she completed a Master of Advanced Studies in Humanitarian Action at the Geneva Centre of Humanitarian Studies, then a Master's degree in Social Anthropology at the University of Bern. Alongside her doctoral research, she is a researcher at the University of Lucerne and teaches at EPFL as a member of the research agency Border Forensics. In 2026, she was awarded prestigious SYLFF fellowship.
