Profile
Shuying Chen is a PhD researcher in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology. Her research interests include global China and Chinese diasporas, varieties of capital, and the politics of brokerage and mediation. She approaches these questions ethnographically, with attention to the local entanglements of transnational corporate practice. Her prior academic training includes a B.A. in Sociology from Renmin University of China and an M.A. in Sociocultural Anthropology from Columbia University in the City of New York.
