The concluding chapter synthesizes the key perspectives, institutional rationales, and analyses discussed in the book and highlights emerging themes and areas for further research. The two co-editors of this chapter demonstrate how the units of analysis and the criteria for assessing the utility and challenges of knowledge brokerage vary widely depending on whether the chapter authors are situated in academe, an international organization, a government, a non-governmental organization, or a grant-giving foundation. Thus, the greatest contribution of the edited book is the documentation of the multi-perspectivity on the topic of knowledge brokerage in an international context. The chapter ends with a triple agenda for further research: the need to examine and better understand sector variation, uptake, and institutional strategies of knowledge brokerage.
