Historically, diplomacy was a man's business, and women were relegated to roles as hostesses, caregivers and wives. Today, increasing numbers of women work at all levels of the world’s foreign ministries, bringing the potential to disrupt in an organised manner historical hierarchies and to reimagine diplomacy along more decentralised, inclusive lines.
