What next for the global governance of Covid-19?: Insights from the WHO Executive Board Special Session

, -

Online Event,  16:00 CET

Covid-19 has put unprecedented global attention on WHO, prompting approval and critique seemingly with every move. In a two-day Special Session (5-6 October) dedicated to Covid- 19, the agency's governing Executive Board will discuss complex, delicate questions on the global response to COVID-19 and the independent evaluation now underway. The Board will also assess progress in meeting the landmark commitments made by governments at the May 2020 World Health Assembly, including implementing national action plans, cooperating internationally on research, providing development and humanitarian assistance, ensuring equitable access to medicines and vaccines, involving women in decision-making, and sustainably funding WHO (among others). Join us on October 8th for an update and lively discussion on the meeting outcomes, why they matter and what comes next.
