Abstract:

This project establishes an international research network on the issue of radicalisation and violent extremism. It conducts research on the issue of radicalisation and its social, economic and political drivers and implications, with a view to fill existing scientific gaps in comparative research on radicalisation processes and furthering international academic collaboration in this field. The project adopts an interdisciplinary approach, combining historical comparative qualitative research based on observation and interviews with quantitative methods. The specificity of its contribution lies in its ambition to constitute an international academic platform where national research and experiments on radicalisation can be contextualised historically, compared, confronted and critiqued, notably the policy discourse and practice on radicalisation in recent years.
