Come discover AHCD’s interdisciplinary activities geared towards doctoral students! The Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy invites doctoral students and affiliated faculty across the Institute for a Meet and Greet on 4 October.
This meet and greet will be an opportunity to connect with each other as the year begins, and to discuss the Hirschman Centre’s activities geared towards the PhD community. Among others, the Centre plans to offer a bi-annual colloquium series during which students can present work in progress and receive feedback from leading faculty.
Inspired by Albert O. Hirschman, who is recognized as one of the great interdisciplinary social scientists of the postwar era, the Hirschman Centre’s PhD program focuses on showing students how to build an interdisciplinary community. Each event is designed to facilitate cross-disciplinary conversation on issues that are substantially related to democratic theory and practices.
