Addressing the climate crisis should lead to the intentional, controlled and sustained reduction of greenhouse gases. Above all, it should lead to improved wellbeing, rather than suffering and exclusion. How can the ecological transition become a project to be democratically designed throughout, with cities, buildings and landscapes actively participating in a zero-carbon, equitable society?

For the final session of the series "Design the Transition, now", the Braillard Architectes Foundation, Metrolab.Brussels, LASUR / EPFL and the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy invite you to attend the debate with:

  • Rob Hopkins, Founder of the Transition Towns Movement and author of From What Is to What If: Unleashing the Power of Imagination to Create the Future We Want (2019)

  • Shalini Randeria, Director of the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva

  • Edwin Zaccai, Doctor of environmental sciences, civil physicist and graduate in philosophy. Full professor at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). Director of the Center for Sustainable Development Studies (CESD)
