The symposium, which is a joint initiative of the Graduate Institute International Economics and International History and Politics Departments, aims to bring together leading researchers in the field on topics including, but not necessarily limited to:

  • Macroeconomic and financial history
  • Economic growth in the very long run: demographic and technological factors
  • Institutions and economic development
  • The history of the international economy
