How To Record a Podcast

, -

the fab, 4th floor of Petal 2, Maison de la paix, Geneva

Podcasts have become a carefully curated, super-efficient way to transmit information. Research, interests, general banter, can accompany listeners through their daily commute, their weekly meal-prep, and any other activity. Their omnipresence has made them an important and even integral part of any communication strategy and an important tool to share expertise on a massive level.

Keeping the buzz of podcasting and podcasts aside, do you know how to make a podcast? It may seem that anyone can pick up a microphone and speak their mind. However, knowing how to use the proper equipment and editing tools can make or break your podcast. This can set you apart from the noise and make sure that your project is shared with as wide an audience as possible.

In this workshop, we will go through the skills that go into production. From choosing a microphone for your project to editing techniques, you will learn the hard skills that go into producing any type of audiovisual media. We will walk you through the process from recording to post-production. Teaching you to record, edit, and publish your very own episodes. So whether you are interested in learning about the equipment available at the institute or the programs we use, sign up and join for an audiovisual crash course.

This workshop is presented by Michelle Olguin Flückliger and organised by the Library with support from the fab.
