The Geneva Graduate Institute Director Marie-Laure Salles and International Law Professor Paola Gaeta will participate to the Sixth Annual Conference of the Geneva Human Rights Platform, which will address the challenges facing the global human rights system, including financial strains on UN bodies and waning political support, which have led to perceptions of failure in fulfilling human rights promises. Marking the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the conference emphasizes the need to "rescue" human rights by focusing on core principles amid global crises. Highlighting the interconnections between human rights and diverse policy areas like global health, technology, and climate change, the 2024 edition aims to explore how human rights can strengthen efforts across various sectors. Established in 2019, this conference has evolved to explore the theme of connectivity within the human rights field.
