Join us at the Fab for a conversation with Julian Thomas Hottinger as he shares his personal experiences and reflections on navigating the human aspects as a peacemaker.

Julian is a highly experienced peace mediation and facilitation expert. He has provided expert technical assistance to peace negotiations in conflict situations including in Sudan, Indonesia, Uganda, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Lebanon, Nicaragua, Northern Ireland, Rwanda, Burundi, Sri Lanka, Syria, Myanmar and Ukraine. Juilan worked as a Senior Mediator for the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs until his retirement in 2023. Today, Julian continues to work on a number of assignments and devotes a signifiant amount of his time in training, supporting and inspiring our next generation of peacemakers.

 

Inspiring Next Generation of Peacemakers is a collaboration between the Peacebuilding Initiative of the Geneva Graduate Institute and the Nagulendran Philanthropy Alliance. The conversation series aim to bring together inspiring peacemakers with our next generation of peacemakers for robust, frank and diverse discussion. It also provides a unique opportunity for students at the Institute to jointly design, curate and host the conversation series with the support of members of the peacebuilding community.
