The global consensus that underpins the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law (IHL) is precious in a world where multilateral cooperation seems increasingly rare and competition among powerful states is on the rise.

In her first public address as president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoljaric will discuss the humanitarian impacts of conflicts globally and how to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

This public event will be moderated by Mohamed Mahmoud Mohamedou, Deputy Director and Professor of International History and Politics at the Geneva Graduate Institute.
