When discussing with students, most of them are used to applying through the standard process (online platform, per email) and usually dislike networking in order to obtain a job. However, this is not necessarily what networking is all about.
Networking is perceived as transactional and puts students in a position of discomfort just thinking about doing it. This perception is actually wrong and to network is simply to build long lasting relationships around trust. For this to happen, one has to genuinely appreciate the person they interact with and want to entertain this bond. That is when networking is the most effective.
Whether you are an introvert, extrovert, or somewhere in between, we offer practical advice on how to grow your network and how to use your existing and future connections to land a job..
Through this workshop, you will be able to learn :
To shift your mindset towards networking.
To make the most of a new connection.
To make the most of current connections.
Practical tips on starting new conversations and/or following up on new encounters.
