The Peacebuilding Initiative is delighted to present the next edition of the Spring semester’s Peace Café. The Peace Café is your chance to receive genuine insights into the personal lives of peace professionals, listen to their wisdom and ask your questions.
We feel honoured to present our distinguished guest speaker for the upcoming event: Yves Daccord.
Yves is currently leading Harvard’s first-ever Pop-Up Institute – the Edgelands Institute – to imagine the terms of new social contracts that work for cities and people in the age of pandemics and digital surveillance. Yves leads as well the #Principles4Peace initiative and chairs the Board of the leading Swiss newspaper LeTemps, the Board of the International Human Rights Film Festival of Geneva, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of ODI and of Trial International.
From 2010 to March 2020, Yves was the Director-General of the ICRC. A former journalist, TV producer and international relations expert, his ICRC career spanned more than two decades in a variety of posts and challenging contexts – including Israel and the Occupied Territories, Sudan, Yemen, Chechnya and Georgia.
For young peacemakers, his expertise and personal insights can be a source of inspiration, a call to action, and a push to expand the boundaries of our thinking.
Join us for an engaging dialogue that promises a personal touch and an invaluable learning experience.
