In a more artistic than militant approach, the photographer from Le Temps fell in love with these desert areas that have become symbols of global warming. Without lecturing, he lets the mountains do the talking.

Take a virtual visit of the Rhone Glacier with Eddy Mottaz on Le Temps website.

Watch a retrospective on Leman Bleu below:

Eddy Mottaz was born on June 19, 1959 in Yverdon. After learning stone sculpture, then entering the ESAV in Geneva, he tried his hand at photography in 1991. He then collaborated for the Nouveau Quotidien then Le Temps since 1998. In September 2014, Eddy Mottaz traveled to the island of Lampedusa to "confront the reality relayed by the media". He won several prizes, including the Swiss Press Photo three times (2000, 2002 and 2014).
