There are four billion people in the world who live in cities. Almost a quarter of them live in slums and struggle to access a healthy and diverse diet. The world can no longer ignore urban nutrition problems. Nutrition has become a global priority in the Sustainable Development Goals Framework (SDG 2) along with inclusive and sustainable cities (SDG11). We will not be able to achieve one without the other. Poor nutrition can have significant impact on the ability of urban citizens to lead healthy and productive lives.
The panel discussion will focus on how to improve the nutrition of vulnerable urban populations.
