Starring John Hurt, Shooting Dogs is based on a true story of a Catholic priest who sheltered over 2,500 Tutsis during the genocide in Rwanda. The title refers to the actions of UN soldiers, who were powerless to intervene other than by shooting the stray dogs which scavenged the bodies of the dead.
