This town hall will feature different perspectives that draw on the academic foundations of the Institute across disciplines and fields of thematic expertise with several speakers from the Institute before opening up to the audience for a broader discussion on the implications for the future of democracy and global governance.

Conflict in Ukraine has escalated to a major armed conflict leaving thousands dead and uprooting hundreds of thousands of people in the first week of fighting. In the face of these rapid developments, the Geneva Graduate Institute is convening a town hall to provide context and understanding of the unfolding developments and to situate what is happening within the broader trends in international relations and governance. The town hall will feature different perspectives that draw on the academic foundations of the Institute across disciplines and fields of thematic expertise. 

The event will include several speakers from the Institute before opening up to the audience for a broader discussion on the implications for the future of democracy and global governance.

This town hall is co-hosted by the Director's Office and the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy.
