David B. Evans is an expert in health economics and health financing.  He has been a consultant for the last 10 years, predominantly for the Health Financing Global Solutions Group at the World Bank.  Before that, he worked in the World Health Organization for 25 years, including as the inaugural Director of the Department of Health Systems Financing and Governance.   He has extensive experience working with countries to develop or review their health financing strategies.  He has also been an academic in Australia, Singapore and Switzerland, with more than 200 publications including the influential World Health Report 2010 entitled Health Systems Financing: the Path to Universal Coverage.
