In Switzerland, a country of neutrality, new, unfamiliar voices are being heard. Voices of women who fight for the recognition of structural racism, deconstruct stereotypes and confess their double identity as Swiss and Black. It is in this context that Rachel M’Bon begins her own search for identity. On her way to liberation, she questions her past, her present and holds up a mirror to her country and her peers.

This documentary film (2022, 52 minutes, in French with English subtitles) will be followed by a panel discussion with:

  • Rachel M’Bon, Film Director

  • Letizia Gaja Pinoja, PhD Candidate in International History and Politics, Geneva Graduate Institute (moderator)

  • Zulaikha Patel, 2022 Young Activists Summit Laureate

The screening is organised in partnership with the International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH) and the Young Activists Summit taking place on 2 December 2022. This event is part of Diversity Month at the Geneva Graduate Institute.
