On 16 January, the Agora project Stories of the Future was displayed at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2024 in Davos, Switzerland, whose theme this year was "Rebuilding Trust." The project's theme, which looks at the nexus of AI and democracy, resonated with the topics discussed in Davos this year as well as with the panel organised by the Institute later that day.

The project aims to raise awareness amongst young people in Switzerland about the future of democracy and the role of technology, particularly AI. Around a hundred stories about the future have already been written by young people in Switzerland, and some of them reinterpreted by students from art schools including the Zurich University of the Arts.

In Davos, interactive posters prepared by students from the Bachelor in Interaction Design of the Zurich University of the Arts were displayed every hour in the lobby area of the AI House of the WEF 2024, which was the main venue for AI-related discussions in Davos. The video of the posters was prepared by Rebecca Morganti-Pfaffhauser and Luke Franzke. Two members of Stories of the Future team, Jérôme Duberry and Laura Bullon-Cassis, were on site to present the posters. These will be displayed in a public exhibition in Zurich at the end of February.

A similar endeavour of reinterpretation will be undertaken by students from the HEAD - Geneva this spring, which will culminate in a public exhibition in Geneva. More information on this soon!
