Your event at the Graduate Institute

The Graduate Institute proposes venues and high-level services at the Campus de la paix, a network of buildings strategically located in the heart of International Geneva.

Campus de la Paix

Campus de la paix is a network of buildings strategically located in the heart of International Geneva, extending from Place des Nations (the United Nations Headquarters) to the shores of Lake Geneva, and spanning two public parks.

At the heart of the Campus lies the architecturally stunning Maison de la paix, which opened in 2013 with funding from the Swiss Confederation and the city of Geneva.

The curved lines of its glass façades create a spectacular and elegant structure, which comes to life and evolves as the visitor moves around it.

Maison de la paix is the home of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Europe’s oldest school of international affairs, as well as several organisations working to promote peace and security.

The Campus also houses the Edgar et Danièle de Picciotto Student House, as well as the Grand Morillon Student Residence, the Rothschild building and two historic villas situated by Lake Geneva (Villa Barton and Villa Moynier).

Venue services

Maison de la paix's purpose-built event facilities and other spaces in the Campus de la paix are designed to host a wide range of activities, offering first-class levels of performance and comfort in a unique setting in the heart of international Geneva.

Our venue services form part of a long-term strategy to develop and diversify the Institute's revenue base. Income generated from the rental of our facilities is used to support initiatives for our students (scholarships, chairs, research grants and prizes) and hence contribute to the education of future international actors from around the world.

Meeting spaces can be configured to client requirements and a wide range of logistical, technological and audio-visual options are available for each event.

A Credit Suisse ATM is available 24/7 at the Centre's entrance of the Maison de la paix Meeting Centre in Petal 5 of the Maison de la paix.

Why choose Geneva?

The Whole World is Here

Europe’s most international city provides a stunning home for 32 international organisations, 250 non-governmental organisations, 900 multinationals and 26,000 international diplomats and civil servants.

The United Nations European headquarters, the World Health Organization, the World Trade Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the World Economic Forum are all based in Geneva.

The City of Peace

Geneva has long been Europe’s focal point for humanitarian dialogue. Each year, the city welcomes 3,000 professional and private visits by heads of state, government and ministers. 172 states have permanent diplomatic missions here.

The Maison de la paix is home to leading organisations involved in mediation, peace, disarmament and security issues.

Alpine Setting, French Flair

Switzerland’s largest French-speaking city offers an unrivalled quality of life for residents and visitors alike. Nestled along the shores of Europe’s largest Alpine lake and surrounded by the Jura mountains and the Alps, Geneva is a lively, cultural hub.

Visitors enjoy the picturesque Old Town, lakeside promenades, elegant shops and vast range of restaurants. Geneva is one of the greenest cities in Europe: 20% of the city is covered in green areas.
