Tech Hub

Human intelligence in Tech

The Tech Hub is the Institute's focal point for AI. We bring together expertise from across our community — and from beyond our walls — to guide the ethical and responsible adoption of artificial intelligence, keeping humanity and the planet at the centre. Across teaching, research, and administration, we equip every member of our community with the skills, critical judgement, and confidence to make the most of these technologies, while remaining true to our values of peace, equity, and sustainability.

The Tech Hub was established in 2022 and is led by Jérôme Duberry and Ralph Müller. For more information, please contact us at techhub@graduateinstitute.ch  or follow us on LinkedIn.

WHAT WE DO

GUIDE THE INSTITUTE'S AI STRATEGY: We coordinate the design and implementation of the Institute's AI strategy — guiding a responsible and ethical adoption of artificial intelligence across teaching, research, and administration, in line with the Institute's values and charter. As the Institute's focal point for AI, we bring together the people and units shaping this transformation, turn principles into practical guidance, and help our community navigate both the opportunities and the risks that AI brings.

SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY:  We help our students, faculty, and staff develop the skills, tools, and critical judgement to make the most of AI and emerging technologies. From workshops and Tech Week to a dedicated AI-literacy programme, we accompany every member of our community — not only to use these tools, but to question them. Whether through hands-on training, support for teaching and research, or spaces to reflect on what AI means for our disciplines, we prepare our community to engage with technology thoughtfully and with confidence in a fast-changing world.

CONNECT BEYOND THE INSTITUTE:  As a social-science institute engaging with technologies, we build bridges to the partners who complement our expertise — technical universities, international organisations, and industry. We convene and host collaborative projects that bring these worlds together around the human and societal questions of AI — strengthening the Institute's distinctive voice and visibility in the wider technological landscape.
