Centre on Conflict, Development & Peacebuilding

The Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) is the Geneva Graduate Institute’s focal point for advancing research and engagement on conflict, peacebuilding, and the links between security and development.

Vision | To deepen understanding of violence and conflict, and to help create the conditions for lasting peace and security through research, policy, and practice.

Mission | The CCDP bridges research, policy, and practice by conducting interdisciplinary and policy-relevant research on conflict, development, and peacebuilding. We work in inclusive partnerships with international agencies, governments, NGOs, local communities, and regional organisations to shape policies and practices that strengthen peace and security at both global and local levels.

RESEARCH THEMES

Our research encompasses a range of topics critical to peacebuilding, including:

  • Mediation
  • Security Sector Reform (SSR)
  • Arms and Armed Actors
  • UN Peace Missions
  • Environment, Conflict, and Peacebuilding
  • Measuring Peace
  • State Actors in Peacebuilding and Peacemaking
  • Digital Peacebuilding and Cybersecurity

The CCDP is a founding partner of the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform and a member institution of the OSCE Network of Think Tanks and Academic Institutions. It works in close collaboration with the Small Arms Survey, the Community of Practice on Environment, Climate, Conflict, and Peace (ECCP), Everyday Peace Indicators (EPI), the Toda Peace Institute, and Principles for Peace, fostering sustained exchange between research, policy, and practice
